Ashtanga Vinyasa Beginners

Ashtanga is an incredibly powerful and therapeutic practice that has the potential to create a vibrantly healthy body and ultimately calm the mind. This is a physical and dynamic class that will build strength, focus and flexibility.
At the heart of this practice is breath synchronised with movement to create a dynamic flow, so be prepared to work hard and expect to get a little sweaty as this system is created to generate an intense internal heat as you move around the mat.
The Primary Series is designed to purify the body through the breath and the movement to invoke a stillness of the mind.
In this class Silvia guides you through the modified primary series of the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Method: sun salutations, some of the standing poses, some of the seated poses, and some of the closing sequence poses. Class ends with guided savasana (relaxation). The least challenging poses from the original sequence are selected and modifications will be given if necessary, as well as hands-on adjustments. We will focus on synchronized breath and movement and learn how to keep the pelvic floor active during the whole practice.
